Heather Beam, Founder

Heather Beam is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst who began working with children with autism in home and school based programs in 1995 using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. 

Heather received her Master’s Degree in Special Education from Bowling Green State University.  She went on to complete graduate training in Applied Behavior Analysis from Penn State University.  Heather’s passion has always been to design learning environments for children that will allow them to reach their greatest potential.  Prior to starting Capable Kids, Heather was a special education teacher, program administrator and adjunct faculty member at BGSU. 

In 2000, Heather began a private practice working with children and their families and in 2004, Capable Kids was established.  Heather is married to Jeffrey, the behind the scenes “jack of all trades” for Capable Kids.  Heather and Jeffrey have one exuberant little boy of their own, Elliot.
